A military flag-raising ceremony for the flags of the Republic of Bulgaria, the European Union and the Municipality of Varna will take place at “Sts. Cyril and Methodius” square;
19:00 - Ceremony for the Presentation of the Honorary Titles and Distinctions of the Municipality of Varna - Summer Theatre
The ceremony will be followed by a concert featuring "Varna" Ensemble, young talents from Varna and famous Bulgarian singer Orlin Pavlov;
20:30 - "By the Fountain" - a concert conducted by Nayden Todorov, featuring the Varna State Opera Orchestra
Soloists: Anna Furdzhieva (violin), Krasimir Dzhambazov (violin), Ilina Mihaylova (soprano), Zhana Kostova (soprano), Reynaldo Droz (tenor), Svilen Nikolov (baritone) and Evgeniy Stanimirov (bass). The programme will feature works by Bizet, Mozart, Verdi, Dvořák, Rossini, Lehár and other world-renowned composers;
21:00 - Festive Concert for the Day of Varna - Pantheon, Sea Garden
The line-up will include the band “Innerglow”, featuring Varna musician Petar Zhelev, Varna-based artist VICK, R&B artists from Varna QVKATA DLG, MADMATIC, SHUNAKA, KIKO SOPA and FARAOANA, as well as Varna street dance group “The Center World”, presenting a special programme for the Day of Varna.
Special guests will be much-loved Varna performers Ventsi Kutsarov and Ivan Cheshmedzhiev, together with the Varna ballet “Kapriz”, who will bring their trademark dose of humour to the festive programme.
The highlight of the evening will be the long-awaited performance by DARA, a native of Varna. She will take the stage immediately after the traditional festive fireworks for the Day of Varna, which will light up the sky at exactly 23:00h;
