Programme:
10:30 a.m. - Commemoration of the events of 6 September 1885 in front of the memorial plaque dedicated to Prince Alexander I of Battenberg at Nezavisimost Square, including laying of wreaths and flowers with a military ceremony.
11:00 a.m. - A procession will depart from Nezavisimost Square and proceed along Maria Luiza Boulevard to the Monument to Those Who Fell in the Serbo-Bulgarian War, located in the garden next to Varna Municipality. At 11:30 a.m., a memorial prayer will be held, followed by a wreath- and flower-laying ceremony with military honors.
6:00 p.m. - A historical reenactment of the events of 1885 will take place at Nezavisimost Square. Actors will recreate the moment when Prince Battenberg announced from Varna, for the first time, the Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia.
The events are co-organized by the Bulgarian Naval Forces and the Holy Metropolis of Varna and Veliki Preslav.
