The performance traces the development of the musical genre over the past 12 years on the stage of the Varna Opera and includes excerpts from iconic musicals, transformed by director Srebrina Sokolova into an exciting theatrical and musical experience. Led by Maestro Stratsimir Pavlov, the orchestra, soloists and ballet will tell the story of the genre through beloved melodies from “West Side Story”, “Love Never Dies”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Grease” and others. The performance features special guest Orlin Pavlov.
“A Million Dreams” also includes soloists Ilina Mihaylova, Liliya Ilieva-Mihaylova, Reynaldo Droz, Velin Mihaylov, Balena Landzheva, Neycho Petrov - Reggi, Kaloyan Nikolov, Daniel Dobrev and other beloved and popular musical theatre artists. The choreographer is Nadya Dimokova, and the action on stage unfolds as a rehearsal process in which reality and fantasy intertwine. The audience witnesses the inner life of a theatre company - with conflicts, humour, love, disappointment and hope. Gradually, the rehearsal turns into a celebration, and chaos - into harmony.
“A Million Dreams” is a performance - a message that there is no small stage when dreams are big, that art survives through the people who believe in it, and that every song is a step, and every role - a chance and a new beginning,” says director Srebrina Sokolova.
