The Early Medieval Monastery at Karaach Teke, near Varna, is one of the largest monasteries on the Balkan Peninsula. It is located within the city limits, approximately 4–5 km from the city centre, in the direction of Sofia.
The monastery was discovered in the early 20th century by the Czech-Bulgarian archaeologist Karel Škorpil.
It is believed to have been founded in the late 9th or early 10th century by Saint Tsar Boris I and was dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
