The current exhibition includes 84 works - paintings, sculptures, graphics, drawings, installations and conceptual art - and is located in six halls on the first floor of the gallery. The exposition is built on a semantic principle, with each hall presenting artists united by common aesthetic, generational and personal ties.
Particular attention is paid to the stylistic diversity: figuration, neo-expressionism, surrealism, abstractionism, synthetic cubism, informal painting and art installation.
Visitors will have the opportunity to follow different artistic approaches - from rational-conceptual to emotional-expressive, as well as to make comparisons between the generations of artists who entered art in the 1970s and 1980s years.
The exhibition reveals the important role of "Vulcan" in establishing Varna as a leading center of visual arts outside the capital. It is this community that is at the heart of the creation of the International Biennial of Graphics - one of the most prestigious art events in Bulgaria.
A significant part of the works presented are shown to the public for the first time, as they were not included in the gallery's permanent exhibition. In this sense, the exhibition also has a commemorative character, recalling important names in Bulgarian art, some of whom are no longer among the living.
