"The "Atelier Georgi Velchev" hall of the Art Museum "Georgi Velchev", a branch of the City Art Gallery "Boris Georgiev" - Varna, presents an exhibition of works by the Varna artist Margarita Voynova (1952 - 2023), valued as an artist and a person from the artistic community of the seaside city. The exhibition includes works created with different techniques and in different periods of her work. Among them are her popular watercolors, acrylic paintings with motifs from Australia, as well as collages from her last years. The works were provided for the exhibition by collectors, friends and admirers of the artist.
About Margarita Voynova, the French writer and art critic André Mure said in 2000: “Voynova presents through her paintings incredibly well the crossroads and the meeting of different cultures. The wonderful color harmony, fantasy and improvisation captivate the viewer. Voynova presents us with states of mind in a plastic, modern language, which makes her art understandable to the audience. She has an original, contemporary creative expression, which is a poetic message, full of optimism and vitality and a bearer of the rich Slavic soul.”
Margarita Voynova (1952 - 2023) was born in Varna. She specialized in painting and watercolor in Varna and Vienna under Prof. Stoimen Stoilov, laureate of the Herder Prize. Margarita Voynova’s artistic career began in the early 1980s with classical woven tapestries based on designs by famous Bulgarian artists.
