"Musical Contemplations" - an exhibition by Alexander Kaprichev

November 5 - December 2, 2025
Boris Georgiev City Art Gallery – Varna
Opening on November 5, 2025, at 6:00 PM.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the artist's birth.

The Boris Georgiev City Art Gallery - Varna, presents the exhibition "Musical Contemplations" by Alexander Kaprichev (1945–2008) - an exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the artist's birth. The exhibition includes paintings - oil and acrylic, drawings and watercolors, and focuses attention on the author's musical cycle from the 1990s, in which sound and pictorial gesture intertwine in a single artistic field.

The collection, selected by the artist’s wife, Milica Kapricheva, brings together paintings, drawings and watercolors inspired by the artist’s musical preferences: from the Baroque of Bach and Vivaldi, through the modernism of Stravinsky and Penderecki, to the improvisational freedom of Gershwin and jazz. The works reveal thematic and emotional correspondences with Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue”, Vivaldi’s “The Seasons” and the pulse of 20th century music.

City Art Gallery “Boris Georgiev” - Varna, 1 “L. Karavelov” Str.
Working hours: Monday - Saturday: 9:30 - 17:30, day off - Sunday.
