Tsarev Brod – vineyards tell a story!
We are at the heart of the old Bulgarian glory, between Pliska, Preslav and Madara. It was here, the kings roamed, that Ivan and Svetla created Earth 96, a family-run wine-growing project with vision and passion.
It all started with Sauvignon Blanc in 2001, a variety considered ‘Taboo’ at the time. Today, the vineyards are over 40 hectares and include Traminer, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay, Eumolpia, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Gris.
But the greatest pride is Gergana, the revived Bulgarian pearl.
A lost variety, created in 1956, found accidentally and resurrected with effort, patience and love. Today Tsarev Brod Winery is the only one with a genetically proven vineyard Gergana – a variety with the aroma of Muscat, acidity like Dimyat and taste that will bring you back to the authentic white Bulgarian wine.
