
The monument to Anton Novak is located in the Sea Garden near the University of Economics. Anton Novak (1860–1945) was a Czech landscape architect and the creator of the Sea Garden, Asparuhov Park, and other green spaces in Varna. For his work on the park at the Vladislav Varnenchik Museum, Anton Novak was awarded the Order of Civil Merit by the Government of the Republic of Poland.
The installation of the monument to Anton Novak was initiated by Lilyana and Vladimir Stanevi. The author, Professor Plamen Bratanov, created an original sculpture of stone and bronze, skillfully combining a bas-relief with an elegant floral motif. The monument was funded by the Municipality of Varna and inaugurated on June 26, 1999.
