Biking trails

Aladzha Monastery 1 ( to Baba Alino and back)

Aladzha Monastery 1 ( to Baba Alino and back)

A very short but interesting route in the Nature Park Golden Sands, which is a combination of several trails in the area between Aladzha Monastery and Baba Alino. It can be used both for a quick circle in the area (for example before or after the beach, if you are on holiday somewhere nearby), and in combination with other short routes around.
Aladzha Monastery 2 (above Golden Sands)

Aladzha Monastery 2 (above Golden Sands)

Another short route in Golden Sands National Park with a starting point in the parking lot and the drinking fountain below Aladzha Monastery. Like other cycling routes in the area, the current one is almost entirely on trails that are not very difficult, but not annoyingly easy, so it is suitable for a wide range of people, as long as they already have some confidence to ride on rough terrain. Have in mind that both on the descent and on the ascent there are separate steeper and technical sections - for advanced riders riding will be relatively easy, but interesting; for the more insecure and less physically fit ones, the challenges will be a little more, but not too much.
Vinitsa - Dabravata - Horseriding center

Vinitsa - Dabravata - Horseriding center

It is a short biking route in the vicinities of Vinitsa suburb in Varna. The route is suitable for everyone who loves nice trails and for those who seek short and fast bike riding for an hour or two. It includes two trails that are not that popular among the hikers so one could ride with limited “traffic”. The first trail is hidden and very narrow – the terrain is not difficult but its narrow width could trip you up at some spots and sections. The second trails goes above the Vinitsa horse riding center and offers adrenalin as it is fast but there are also some technical sections. Going uphill is along asphalt road most of the time – the first climb is smooth and easy, the second one is very steep and riders would have to ride harder.
Aladzha Monastery 3 (above Golden Sands)

Aladzha Monastery 3 (above Golden Sands)

This short cycling route in the heart of the Golden Sands Nature Park, starting from the parking lot and the fountain under Aladzha Monastery, is intended mainly for novices and beginners, although it will be quite pleasant for advanced mountain bikers who want to make a high-speed "turn" on easy and fast trails, using the dense shade of the forest. Its short length allows you to take a quick dose of adrenaline for literally 1-2 hours, before / after work or beach.
Varna – Kranevo (via Vinitsa suburb)

Varna – Kranevo (via Vinitsa suburb)

This biking route is a good choice for a whole day biking starting from Varna Sea garden following smooth ascent to Golden Sands nature park via Vinitsa suburb, where one would find a lot of pleasant path to bike along. Going back would be via the TV tower and down to the city. Technically the route is not difficult although there are sections with quite steep and rocky spots.
Aladzha Monastery - Kranevo

Aladzha Monastery - Kranevo

This wonderful route in Golden Sands Nature Park is suitable for any mountain biking enthusiast who already has some experience in cross-country riding and is looking for trails that are not very difficult, but offer some challenges. The ride is mostly in the shade, ie. it is also suitable boht in summer and spring while in autumn it is really perfect. You can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the sea, there are many ascents and descents, which accumulate altitude, but in terms of physical activity the route is not difficult and allows good average speed to be maintained.
Aladzha Monastery – villa zone Lozite (the Vines)

Aladzha Monastery – villa zone Lozite (the Vines)

A short cycling route in the vicinity of Varna and in Golden Sands National Park, that targets   mainly people seeking easier terrain. However, as part of the ride is on a pleasant trail, there is even a steeper and more technical section, so that people with more experience may also like this circle, if they have already tried other routes around and want to diversify.
Varna - Kranevo (along the sea coast)

Varna - Kranevo (along the sea coast)

A long and panoramic biking route. In one way it will lead you through some of the most popular resorts along the coast to the north of Varna, as well as through interesting places in Vinitsa suburb. On your way back the route will take you through a variety of paths in Golden Sands nature park, some of which may make you sweat up or challenge you down.
Aladzha Monastery - Vinitsa 1

Aladzha Monastery - Vinitsa 1

This short and varied cycling route on the outskirts of Varna includes three trails and none of them will leave you indifferent! All three trails are part of other routes in the area, but here they are combined in such a way that provides you with a quick dose of adrenaline without too much spin. The trails are not very difficult, but they are not quite suitable for beginners, i.e. they include some more technical and / or steep sections. Anyone who already has some experience in off-road bike-riding will probably enjoy them as much as possible.
Varna (TV tower) - Kranevo

Varna (TV tower) - Kranevo

This is one of the best mountain biking routes near Varna. Of course, the concept of "best" for each person includes different things - some like to contemplate the views or feel the proximity of the sea (when we speak specifically about Varna), others may prefer shorter and lighter rides, for others technical complexity, or physical exertion play a leading role. And here all these components are well mixed and balanced. What's more - a huge part of the ride is on trails - both easier and more technical here and there, which makes mountain biking  an even more fulfilling experience. There are also interesting places along the route - in addition to the several panoramic views and riding through the natural park "Golden Sands", the route passes by Aladzha Monastery - one of the main tourist attractions in the area. If you have the time and desire, you can stop by and see it.
Aladzha Monastery - Vinitsa 2

Aladzha Monastery - Vinitsa 2

A short bike route in the outskirts of Varna between Aladzha Monastery and Vinitsa, including two nice trails and a little panoramic ride on the plateau above the coast. The route also passes through open areas, so during  summer heat it is advisable to choose the cooler hours of the day. Otherwise, riding is possible in all seasons, but in winter or after a little more rain, the country road on the plateau can be muddy and more difficult to cross.
Varna - TV Tower 1 along the Right path

Varna - TV Tower 1 along the Right path

If you ask someone in Varna where you could make a quick circle with your mountain bike near the city, the answear probably would be “next to the TV tower”. It is located on a plateau above the city, the slope is steep and facing south, which means that the trails dry quickly even after rain. Well, it also means that more and more houses and villas are appearing under the forest belt, but for now there are enough trails for local sports and nature lovers to ride mountain bikes, run, walk, walk dogs, etc.

Vladislavovo 1

Vladislavovo 1

A short and very nice cycling route for mountain biking above Vladislavovo district in Varna, which  mainly includes trails - both for ascent and descent. This makes it a little harder uphill, but the steep sections are mostly at the beginning and the effort is worth it, because you go through 1-2 panoramic places overlooking the city and the sea.
Vladislavovo 2

Vladislavovo 2

A short route for mountain biking above Vladislavovo district in Varna, including a pleasant ascent and descent on trails and a little ride on the plateau above the city. At the beginning the ascent is a bit steeper, but the effort is worth it, because you cycle on pleasant trails and pass through 1-2 panoramic places overlooking the city and the sea. In general, the route is not difficult in terms of physical load, but technically its difficulty is medium, and it comes mostly from the final trail - the rest of the ride is quite light as a terrain.
Vladislavovo 3

Vladislavovo 3

A short route for mountain biking above Vladislavovo residential area in Varna with a smooth ascent to the plateau and descent down alongg a pleasant path. The ascent is mostly on country roads and it is relatively smooth, but there is one feature - the height when climbing up is greater than when descending, due to the different starting and ending points of the route. The reason why the route is not described as a roundabout is that in such an option you would have to go through an unpleasant neighborhood, where it does not seem to be quite safe.
Vladislavovo – Izvorite

Vladislavovo – Izvorite

An interesting, pleasant and a bit adventurous cycling route near Varna, which will take you from “Vladislavovo” residential area to Batova river and back. It includes many trails and also a pinch of adventure in the wild. At the same time, the terrain is generally not difficult, but by no means boring.
Varna - the village of Vaglen - the river Batova - the water mills - the village of Yarebichna - Varna

Varna - the village of Vaglen - the river Batova - the water mills - the village of Yarebichna - Varna

This is a nice and varied cross-country route north of Varna, which has everything - two main ascents and descents, quite a number of flat sections between them, a little wildness, a lot of shade and a nice final descent.
Varna - Vuglen village – Vodenitsite/ the Mills/ - Batova river – Varna

Varna - Vuglen village – Vodenitsite/ the Mills/ - Batova river – Varna

This is a nice and varied cross-country route north of Varna, which has everything - two main ascents and descents, quite a number of flat sections between them, a little wildness, a lot of shade and a nice final descent. It has many points of contact with the other similar route in the same area, but this one goes in the opposite direction and is generally easier as terrain - there are only 2-3 short steep sections down that could be difficult for beginner cyclists - everything else has a slight to moderate slope.
From Asparuhovo to Pasha Dere beach

From Asparuhovo to Pasha Dere beach

This is a cycling route for mountain biking along the seaside, which connects two of the most famous beaches in Varna and for this reason it is suitable for combining these two pleasures - sunbathing and cycling.
