Varna offers rich opportunities for cultural tourism in every season, combining millennia of history, a maritime atmosphere, and a contemporary urban rhythm. Archaeological sites of global significance, along with well-preserved cultural heritage, narrate the story of the city—from antiquity to the present day.
In present-day Varna, the archaeological remains of the ancient city of Odessos’ public baths can be found. The thermae were not only places for bathing but also centers of public and social life. The Roman baths are located in the southeastern part of the modern city, near the port, and are among the best-preserved architectural monuments from antiquity.
Euxinograd Residence is open to visitors. The tourist route includes the historic core of the park with its greenhouses, the palace building, the sundial (a gift to Tsar Ferdinand from Queen Victoria), the chapel of St. Demetrius, and the winery building. It is located 8 km north of Varna and extends along a 3-kilometre coastal strip, in close proximity to the resort of Saints Constantine and Helena.
