Mihail Koloni (1817–1893) was a key figure in Varna’s development—a supporter of the national liberation movement, a public figure with European views, a merchant, and a philanthropist.
In the 1980s, Varna’s garden by the City Art Gallery (now Atlantic Solidarity Square) became the Open-Air Museum, featuring works like The Holocaust and Mother.
