the park in front of the Varna State Opera
Urban Wine Fest Varna 2026 is an invitation to all residents and visitors of the seaside city to discover the richness and diversity of Bulgarian wine. The event is part of a series of festivals dedicated to International Mavrud Day, celebrated on 26 October.
On 16 and 17 October, Urban Wine Fest Varna 2026 returns to Varna with a new selection of Bulgarian wines, offering visitors the opportunity to discover the richness of local grape varieties and Bulgarian wine regions. Following three successful editions at ReBonkers, in 2026 the festival takes on an even more urban character with its new open-air location. One of the liveliest, most artistic, and iconic places in the heart of Varna - the park in front of the Varna State Opera - will become a stage for Bulgarian wine.
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover their own "message in a bottle" through a carefully curated selection of more than 40 Bulgarian wines. At the dedicated wine bars, established professionals from the Bulgarian Association of Wine Professionals will present both familiar flavours and lesser-known local grape varieties and wine regions in an independent and accessible way.
For the first time, the programme will place a special focus on the Northern Black Sea Coast wine region.
The "Message in a Bottle" concept puts the story behind each wine in the spotlight - its origin, grape variety, and the people who bring it to life.
Admission is free.
Wine and food are available for purchase on site.
For tastings, visitors may use their own wine glass or obtain one against a deposit.
Urban Wine Fest Varna 2026 is held with the official support of the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture, and Varna Municipality.
