
The Varna City Art Gallery, the former Boys’ High School building, is one of the most remarkable architectural monuments in the city. Its romantic Neo-Gothic building from the end of the 19th century, located in the heart of the city, the wonderful space of its numerous halls, its inner and outer courtyards provide a suitable atmosphere for high-quality artistic events as well as great opportunities for hosting all kinds of exhibitions, music events, theatrical productions, concerts, fashion shows, etc.
On the second and third floors of the gallery, works of painting, sculpture and graphics selected from its own collection are displayed in a permanent exhibition. It represents the development of Bulgarian art from the early 20th century to the most contemporary artistic movements. The permanent exhibition also includes separate collections of renowned Bulgarian artists, as well as unique works of Dutch portrait painting from the 17th-century, donated to the gallery.
