The Early Mediaeval Monastery at Karaach teke near Varna is one of the biggest monasteries on the Balkan Peninsula. It is located within the city limits, about 4 - 5 km away from the centre, direction Sofia.
It was discovered in the beginning of the 20th century by Karel Shkorpil.
It is supposed to be built in the end of the 9th and the beginning of the 10th century by Saint Tsar Boris I and it was dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
