The monument to the great sculptor Kiril Shivarov was inaugurated in December 2015. Created by Prof. Plamen Bratanov, it stands in the small city garden next to Georgi Rakovski High School of Trade.
Kiril Shivarov (1887–1938) is one of Varna’s greatest artists. His work can be seen in numerous buildings in Varna and across Bulgaria. Some of his most famous sculptures include the Fountain of the Sirens in the Sea Garden, the Asparouh Monument in Asparouh Park, the Paisii of Hilendar Monument in the National Revival Alley, and the statues at Varna University of Economics.
