
The Hayrie Mosque is located in the historic part of the city, at the corner of Dunav and Tsaribrod Streets. It was built by Dilaver Pasha in 1835, following the withdrawal of Russian troops after the Russo-Turkish War of 1828–1829. A Medresse (а Turkish school) was also constructed adjacent to the mosque.
Above the main entrance of the mosque is a commemorative inscription plaque that provides valuable information about the building’s construction. The plaque is executed in calligraphic script and is written in Arabic and Turkish, and it reads as follows:
