Musical Journey – Italy, Spain and Turkey

A program full of musical surprises that will take you first to Italy on the wings of the music by two true revolutionists – “Paganini of Contrabass” Giovanni Bottesini who change the role of this instrument and Luciano Berio, regarded as one of the most innovative composers for the voice in the post-war generation (in this concert you can hear Sequenca III – “dramatic essay whose story, so to speak, is the relationship between the soloist and her own voice”). Luigi Boccherini is the “bridge” between Italy and Spain – raised in Luca, he spent most of his life as “virtuoso of the chamber and composer of music” of the Aranjuez court of the Infante Don Luis. Spain is presented also with a piece for solo guitar by Joaquin Rodrigo, composer of the most famous concert for guitar and orchestra “Aranjues” and Turkey adds to this musical painting “The Swan song” by Cetin Isikoglu, renowned composer, a distinguished pianist, conductor and teacher of composition. Bulgarian quartet Frosch and soloists from three countries will lead you through this Mediterranean music journey.
